First Cypriot-German Business Day

On Friday, 29 May 2015, the first Cypriot-German Business Day took place in Limassol.

The Commercial Section of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany invited Cypriot and German entrepreneurs, mainly from the Limassol district, in order to enhance further cooperation and networking among the participants.

After the inauguration by the Head of Economic Division, Uwe Wixforth, the German Ambassador Nicolai von Schoepff, His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos II and the President of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Costas Galatariotis, addressed the audience.

There was unanimity among the speakers that the terms are favourable for enhanced collaboration of the real economy between the two countries. Cyprus is successfully tackling its economic challenges through its consistent implementation of the reform programme and the significant efforts made by the Cypriot population. A positive outcome of the Cyprus reunification talks could lead to another economic boost.

Another event in a similar format is planned for Nicosia in the second half of this year to intensify cooperation within the framework of the Cyprus-German Business Association under the auspices of the CCCI.
